IGX 2025 Surabaya at Fairway Nine Mall was a spectacular four-day festival, uniting gamers, tech enthusiasts, and culture lovers in a vibrant community experience. From August 14–17, 2025, we proudly hosted the incredible Indonesia Game Experience (IGX) 2025, held in collaboration with the Ethnic Indonesia Festival. Throughout the event, Fairway Nine Mall transformed into a dynamic hub for families, gamers, and cultural enthusiasts alike. This landmark celebration, widely known as IGX 2025 Surabaya, perfectly coincided with Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, adding a layer of national pride to the cutting-edge festivities. The overwhelming turnout and positive community spirit made the event a resounding success, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated.
The celebrations began on August 14 with an inspiring Opening Ceremony led by Surabaya’s Vice Mayor, Mr. Armuji. The spotlight of the day was the 6th TechSummit by APTIKNAS, where speakers from the Ministry of Culture and creative industry leaders discussed digital innovation and the future of Indonesia’s creative economy.
The energy continued with the Computer & Gadget Bazaar, featuring cutting-edge products, and the popular Free-to-Play E-Sports PC Zone, where visitors could try ultra-graphic games and VR simulators. At the same time, the Cultural Art Exhibition by Kemenbud brought tradition into the mix, reminding guests of the harmony between heritage and modernity.
Day Two Highlights: Community and Free-to-Play Fun
On August 15, IGX 2025 turned into a hub for interaction. The ICafe Gathering brought gamers and IT enthusiasts together, while the Free-to-Play Zone remained a crowd favorite with nonstop PC and console action. Visitors once again enjoyed the Cultural Art Exhibition, which beautifully balanced esports with Indonesian artistry.
Day Three: Esports, Tech, and Local Culture
August 16 was a thrilling day filled with competitions and learning. The morning kicked off with a Seminar on How to Manage E-Sports Events, providing valuable knowledge for future organizers.
The atmosphere heated up with tournaments:
- Mobile Esports Tournament
- PC Esports Tournament
- Re-registration for competitive players
Meanwhile, the IT Bazaar showcased exclusive promos, supported by Telkomsel and IndiHome—from cashback on internet packages to discounts on digital subscriptions like Netflix, Disney+, and Mobile Legends diamonds. Adding to the festival spirit, the UMKM & Culture Area offered local crafts, food stalls, and even showcased Indonesia’s traditional keris, proving that technology and tradition can shine together. As a major gaming festival, IGX 2025 Surabaya successfully connected esports with local culture, creating an experience that celebrated both innovation and tradition.
Independence Day Finale: Cosplay and Grand Finals
On August 17, Independence Day itself, the festival began with the singing of Indonesia Raya, filling Fairway Nine Mall with patriotic pride.
The day was packed with energy as visitors witnessed the Semi-Finals and Grand Finals of the Mobile and PC Esports Tournaments, where the best gamers battled for the spotlight.
The most colorful highlight was the Cosplay Parade, where fans brought their favorite characters to life with creativity and flair. The festival closed with the Awarding Ceremony, celebrating the champions of both esports and cosplay—a fitting finale to four unforgettable days.
